UOBS and ATDCP Agrees for Strategic Partnership for Agri-Tourism and Skills Development
Skardu:(July 27, 2026) University of Baltistan, Skardu (UOBS) and the Agri Tourism Development Corporation of Pakistan (ATDCP) have agreed to establish a strategic partnership to promote Agri-Tourism, value addition, food processing, and youth skills development.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Prof. Dr. Masood Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, UOBS, and Mr. Tariq Tanveer, CEO & Founder, ATDCP.
During the meeting it was agreed that both institutions will jointly organize a National Agri-Tourism Conference to bring together academia, industry, policymakers, and farmers to promote Agri-Tourism as a driver of rural development and sustainable growth.
The partnership will also focus on developing Diploma and Professional Training Programs in Value Addition, Food Processing, Food Technology, Agri-Business, and Agri-Tourism.
Mr. Tariq Tanveer termed Agri-Tourism a key tool for linking agriculture, education, and entrepreneurship. Prof. Dr. Masood Akhtar reaffirmed UOBS’s commitment to producing skilled graduates with practical and entrepreneurial capabilities for the agriculture sector.
Mr. Ghulamullah Saqib, Deputy Director, Agriculture Department GB, also attended and assured technical support, expert trainers, and field-based learning for the proposed programs.
Both sides expressed commitment to making Gilgit-Baltistan a hub for Agri-Tourism, food innovation, and sustainable rural development.
